Wislo Nigeria is run by Wislo World LTD, a company registered in Nigeria. In this Policy, "Wislo," "we," "us" and "our" mean Wislo World LTD. It covers wislo.app/ng and every Wislo Nigeria service. Wislo World LTD is the data controller, and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) governs how we handle your personal data.

1. The short version
- You use Wislo by chatting on WhatsApp or on our website. We collect what we need to take your order, get it to you and pay the store.
- Payments are handled by our payment processor, Paystack. We never see or store your full card details.
- We don't sell your personal data, and we don't send you marketing without your consent.
- You can ask us to show you, correct or delete your data at any time. In the chat, reply forget me.
2. What we collect
If you order
- Your WhatsApp number and profile name, when you message us.
- Your email address. We check it with a one-time code before your first purchase, and your receipt goes there.
- Your delivery address and the area it is in.
- Your orders: what you bought, from which store, for how much, and when.
- The details you give us to complete something you asked for, such as an account number you want us to pay into.
- If you opened a Wislo link that carried a tag (for example from an advert), which link it was.
- If we ask you to confirm who you are before a large or unusual payment, the result of that check. The check is done by a licensed identity-verification provider; we keep the result, not your ID number or your photo.
If you run a store
- Your business name, type and address; your name, email address and phone number; and your business registration number if you give it.
- Your menu or product list, prices and photos.
- The bank account you want to be paid into. We check the account and show you the account name before we save it.
- If you choose to verify your business, a photo of your registration certificate.
If you ride with us
- Your name, address, vehicle and plate number.
- Your NIN and BVN. We verify them against the official national identity and bank verification records, through a licensed identity-verification partner, before you are approved. We keep the result of the check.
- Your guarantor's name, phone number and relationship to you. We call your guarantor before you are approved.
- The bank account you want to be paid into. We check that the account is in your name.
- Your location while you are on a delivery, so the customer and our desk can follow it.
Automatically
- Message and order times, which features you use, and records of messages we send you.
- Payment status from our payment processor (for example, whether a payment went through), never your full card details.
- A small cookie that remembers your country choice on our website.
3. Why we use it (our lawful bases)
- To take and deliver your order, pay the store and pay the rider (performance of a contract).
- To keep everyone safe: one-time codes, delivery handover codes, spending limits and fraud checks (legitimate interest and legal obligation).
- To tell the rider where to go and the store what to prepare (contract).
- To send you messages about your orders and your account (contract).
- To understand, in aggregate, where our customers are and which of our links work (legitimate interest).
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting duties (legal obligation).
4. Who sees it
- The store you order from: your order and first name, and your full address only if the store delivers itself.
- The rider on your delivery: your address and first name, until the delivery closes.
- Our payment processor, Paystack: what it needs to take the payment and pay the store.
- WhatsApp: it carries the chat.
- Our desk staff: what they need to run orders and deliveries. Read-only staff see masked contact details.
- Service providers that host our systems, send messages and help us understand messages (including AI tools). They act only on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.
- The law: we disclose data when the law requires it, or to protect people from harm or fraud.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Where your data is kept
Our systems are hosted on secure servers outside Nigeria. When your data leaves Nigeria for that purpose, we protect it as the NDPA requires, with the safeguards described in this Policy.
6. How we protect it
- We never store your full card details; our payment processor handles them.
- Your first purchase, and some larger payments, need a one-time code first.
- Any customer can reply FREEZE in the chat to lock payments on their number at once.
- We limit who can see personal data and log the messages we send.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data and we will tell you if something goes wrong that affects you.
7. How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: as long as tax and dispute rules require.
- Delivery handover codes and rider location: only until the delivery closes.
- Your chat identity: until you ask us to forget you, or after a long period of inactivity.
- Rider and store sign-up details: while you work with us, then as long as the law requires.
8. Your rights
Under the NDPA you can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy in a portable format. In the chat, reply forget me and your number and any unfinished sign-up are wiped at once. For anything else, email privacy@wislo.app. We answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
9. Children
Wislo is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us their details, tell us and we will delete them.
10. Changes to this Policy
If we make an important change, we will tell you in the chat or by email before it applies, and update the date above.
